Honey Bee Removal in Charleston, SC

Lowcountry Bee Works provides live honey bee removal in the City of Charleston, including the downtown peninsula. We remove colonies from historic homes and businesses carefully and relocate the bees to our apiaries instead of killing them.

Charleston's older homes have thick walls, chimneys, piazzas, cornices and attic spaces that honey bees love. A colony can live inside an old wall for years and grow very large. Because historic homes need extra care, we look at every job first and talk through the best way to get the colony out with as little disturbance as possible.

Bee Removal

We handle swarm pickups, cut-outs, trap-outs and relocations. When opening a historic wall or ceiling isn't a good option, a trap-out may be the better choice, and we'll explain the trade-offs. Pricing starts at free and depends on colony size and access. We don't do repairs after a cut-out, so you'll want your contractor involved, especially on older or historic properties.

Pollination

Courtyard gardens, rooftop plantings and community gardens all benefit from healthy pollinators. If you have a space that could use a hive during bloom, we can place one and look after it.

Apiary Management

Businesses and homeowners interested in hosting bees can have us set up and manage hives for them, with regular inspections, swarm prevention, queen checks, feeding and pest monitoring.
